Effective 25 August 2026
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Inspectrix handles personal information across its website, mobile applications, authentication flows, and inspection-reporting services.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Inspectrix, we may collect:
- account details such as your name, email address, profile image, and authentication identifiers;
- business and contact details you add to your profile;
- inspection records, property and client details, findings, notes, photographs, floorplans, documents, audio recordings, and generated reports;
- support communications and feedback; and
- technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as device, app, browser, diagnostic, and usage information.
2. Google sign-in data
If you choose Google sign-in, Inspectrix requests only the basic identity scopes needed to authenticate you: OpenID, email address, and profile information. This can include your Google account name, email address, profile image, and a stable account identifier.
We use this information to create or identify your Inspectrix account, keep you signed in, secure the service, and display your account details. We do not use Google user data for advertising, sell it, or allow it to be used for credit or lending decisions.
Inspectrix's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide authentication, cloud sync, inspection workflows, document storage, report generation, and related product features;
- maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve Inspectrix;
- respond to support, access, correction, and deletion requests;
- communicate important service or security information; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. When we share information
We share information only when needed to operate Inspectrix, when you direct us to share it, or when required by law. Service providers may include Clerk for authentication, Convex for application data and backend services, Vercel for website hosting, Expo for application build and update services, Google for sign-in and mapping services, and Apple for TestFlight and App Store distribution.
These providers process information on our behalf or under their own applicable terms. We may also disclose information to protect users, investigate misuse, comply with a lawful request, or support a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.
5. Storage and overseas processing
Inspectrix uses cloud services that may store or process information in Australia, the United States, and other locations where our service providers operate. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and appropriate contractual, technical, and organisational safeguards for information processed outside Australia.
6. Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information from loss, misuse, interference, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No internet or storage system is completely secure.
We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably required, subject to backups and legal retention requirements.
7. Your choices and rights
You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete your account information, or make a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request and may retain information where legally required.
You can revoke Inspectrix's Google access from your Google Account permissions. Revoking access prevents future Google sign-in authorisation but does not automatically delete information already held by Inspectrix; contact us if you also want an Inspectrix deletion request processed.
8. Children
Inspectrix is a professional inspection service and is not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Inspectrix changes. We will publish the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice where required. If a change materially affects how we use Google user data, we will provide notice and obtain consent where required before applying the new use.
10. Contact us
For privacy questions, access or correction requests, deletion requests, or complaints, email privacy@inspectrix.com.au. We will review privacy complaints and respond within a reasonable period.
